Gutted...

RIP ELMO
October 8, 1996 - January 26, 2009

I lost Elmo today. He was the cat that even people who don't like cats like. They liked him because he was a huge dork.

I let him go because whatever the problem was too big and he was suffering. The vet couldn't even pinpoint what exactly was wrong with him (fluid on the lungs can indicate either heart failure or a tumour or some sort...somewhere), but it was time. <3

OMG. I am so sorry. Animals truly are my passion and I know how hard it is to lose a pet. I am so sorry.

BnJJ - thank you. I'm a bit numb right now, but know that I made the right decision (although it's not easy). Seeing him suffer would have killed me.

You made a tough decision for someone you loved a lot. So sorry for your loss-its a bigger loss than many people realize. Take care of yourself.

I"m so sorry Annie. That's so sad. Elmo sounds like he was a wonderful cat and I'm sure you gave him a very happy life. My heart goes out to you.

Really sorry to hear about Elmo. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to such a good friend. Even after almost a year I still tear up when I think of our wonderful family dog.

My thoughts are with you.

I know I've strayed away from the point of this blog with posting about Elmo the past little while, but I want to say "thank you" to every single one of you for letting me stray and listening to my concerns for my kitty like he was your own.

Thank you for all your kind words.

It's not coming out very well, but I'm tearing up and honestly, that doesn't happen often.
